Denisha believes that children often, if not usually, communicate their needs and difficulties through their behavior. She has found that this can often lead parents to feel overwhelmed, frustrated and uncertain about how to help. Her approach in therapy involves working in collaboration with the child and parent(s) to discover the meaning behind the child’s behavior. With this insight and understanding, Denisha provides guidance and specific suggestions that will help decrease symptoms for the child and encourage healthy emotional development and growth. Denisha believes in empowering children by helping them build on their strengths while developing new skills. Her sessions are always interactive and often involve games, activities and creative projects that make therapy enjoyable, reflective and effective. She incorporates play-based techniques to help young children understand and navigate their emotions. By combining evidence-based interventions with client-led sessions, therapy becomes intentional, meaningful and impactful.
