Before joining Hinsdale Therapy Group, Liz spent several years working in crisis-level care, supporting youth and adolescents through emotional challenges and teaching essential coping skills. Liz also facilitated group therapy sessions focused on emotional processing and resilience-building.
Liz earned her Masters of Social Work with a concentration in Social Administration and Social Policy from the University of Chicago in 2022. Her graduate work emphasized systemic advocacy and policy analysis, which she thoughtfully integrates into her clinical practice. She believes that understanding the broader social environment is key to supporting individual growth and healing. Liz is a culturally sensitive clinician who is experienced and working with clients of diverse backgrounds and communities, particularly LGBTQ and neurodiverse individuals.
Liz utilizes research-based interventions, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Solution-Focused Crisis Intervention to address a wide range of concerns including anxiety, depression, ADHD, school refusal, and other social-emotional and behavioral challenges. Liz’s approach to therapy is adaptive to meet the specific concerns and needs of each client drawing from a host of theoretical frameworks.
Liz is known for her creative and engaging style. She incorporates art therapy and hands-on activities to build strong therapeutic relationships and make sessions enjoyable and meaningful. Liz partners closely with parents, offering coaching, support, and practical tools to help families navigate the ups and downs of adolescence. Liz’s goal is to empower youth by helping them recognize their strengths, build new skills, and move toward healing and self-actualization. Liz believes that every young person has the power to grow and gain independence – they might just need some guidance along the way to accomplish their goals and meet their full potential.
