Denisha has been working with children for over 10 years in various spaces; including daycares, summer camps, public schools, a children’s hospital, and private practices. What I’ve learned through my experiences is that children usually communicate their needs and difficulties through their behavior. This can often lead to parents feeling overwhelmed or even frustrated and uncertain about how to help. My approach in therapy involves working in collaboration with both the child and parent(s) to discover the meaning behind their behavior. I believe in empowering children by helping them build on their strengths while developing new skills. Sessions are always interactive and often involve games, activities, and creative projects that makes therapy enjoyable, reflective, and effective. I incorporate play-based techniques to help children understand and navigate their emotions. By combining evidence-based interventions with client-led sessions, therapy becomes intentional and impactful.
